BT has developed a collection of novel systems for aerospace, space, electric aircraft, and UAV propulsion such as air-breathing engines and on-board power generation. It has also developed space-resilient materials capable of withstanding hypersonic forces such as heat, vibration, ablation, and resonance – and multi-property superalloys that may be critical to next-generation aerospace development.
MATERIAL SCIENCE ONE ATOMIC LAYER AT A TIME
Space and aerospace present unique research challenges to nano material science. Research in this area has accelerated greatly over the past 15 years, largely catalyzed by the discovery of single-atom layer graphene sheets, carbon nanotubes and other advanced materials. Properties of all materials act in radically different ways on the nano scale. The development of new processes and materials in few-atom or single-atom dimensions – with properties that can be customized to perform in hypersonic space and/or aerospace environments – is a critically important research priority at BT.

GROUNDBREAKING PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT
Leveraging BT’s knowledge of nano materials and fluids, superalloys, and 4D printing processes, BT utilizes the latest third-party prototyping hardware and software to meet specific space and aerospace requirements. BT’s aerospace energy products will undergo extensive design and testing reviews with the expectation that our prototypes will meet rigorous FAA qualifications and certifications.
